My comments about my computer:
Please take the time to read all of this, it explains the build quite well.
Second contest build, great improvements. First the processor, it is an intel! And it overclocks like crazy with a stock cooler. Which is why I added an Arctic Cooling CPU cooler with copper heatsink, another cool thing about it is the fan itself is quiet and sits in a position that increases air flow throughout the whole case.
The DVD Burner is brand new from LG and uses technology that allows for 22x write speed as opposed to 20x from every other burner, big difference.
As most know, the G-Skill RAM is extremely fast and efficient. Its also very inexpensive.
Don’t worry about the 500GB HD with 5400 to 7200 RPMs, all this means is it runs slower when it deems necessary to save power.
The GPU is the best 8600 on the market, I usually go with EVGA, but this one had a faster core clock. It will run COD4 at medium to high settings with some anti-aliasing.
Finally the PSU is very efficient and has more than enough wattage for this build. It also is very good for overclocking.
The microATX shoudl not fool you, there is not much expansion room (what you get for a microATX) but other than that it runs a great bios that overclocks well. Its a budget mobo like all other computers of $500 or less.
There you have it, this thing was made for intense overclocking, so its processor could run like a Core 2 Duo Conroe instead of a Pentium Dual Core. I’m proud.
