No GPU? And there’s no good reason to get a quad core, a dual core with faster cores will outperform a quad in any real world application except very specific, highly parallel, optimized tasks. But 95% of the time a dual core with faster cores will outperform, and it’s cheaper. Also, as much as I am a fan of AMD, intel just makes better processors. Although I hope that changes, just like ATI just dominated NVIDEA with the 4850/4870 gpu.

Needs a better power supply, too..

The case does have a built-in power supply. This PC was built with the multithreaded/multiprocess applications and multitasking in mind. Gaming was not an important factor, but there is a GPU on the motherboard.

I am with robobox on the cpu. Your money can be better spent else where. regardless of the type of computer this will be used for, there truly is such a thing as overkill. with the current uprise of quad core technology, I still have yet to see any quad core cpu pushed to it’s fullest potential. On my current e8200 intel build for example, i can run up to 4 sessions of video converters and still have plenty of juice to actually play a video while i await the 5-10 minute conversion times. the only thing i can see decreasing the wait times now is getting a raptor/velociraptor hard drive to speed up the process.
