  • Total Price for this build : $435.93

My comments about my computer:

Now you too can conduct H.323 video teleconferences with corporate executives and heads-of-state while keeping your main computer free to orchestrate orbital lasers. This complete drop-in HD VTC system transmits using a 960×720 USB webcam with integrated microphone and receives on a 15\” widescreen 1366×768 LCD with built-in speakers. Also threw in wireless keyboard/mouse control so you can lean back in your big leather chair (not included), hit the mute switch, and confide with your sidekick while the far end nervously fumes onscreen. Finally, record and burn your conferences to DVD so you can gloat over your finest moments with your arch-nemesis once you have them securely in your clutches. You will need to use software acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) for this setup to work as a full duplex speakerphone. Skype is one of the few softphones I\’ve tried that support this… otherwise, you\’ll need to use the included headset or a half-duplex push-to-talk setup.

  • Case : ARK Chassis + 420W PS - $25.99
  • Total Price for this build : $497.47

My comments about my computer:

Disk I/O is the slowest part of your system, so throw a 3-disk dual-core RAID server on your gigabit network to offload and accelerate your filesystem access, as well as consolidate and share your media library. This system ideally would run Debian Linux, allowing you to partition the drives into a fault-tolerant 3-disk RAID5 volume up to 1.5TB, a RAID0 volume up to 2.2TB, or a combination in-between. Also has graphics and audio ports to act as a media center, and a DVD+RW to rip and burn CDs/DVDs & data backups.System has room to comfortably double disk capacity with up to 3 more drives (allowing RAID10 and other performance configurations), add memory, an x16 GPU, and double the CPU cores with a quad-core Phenom.

My comments about my computer:

I keep rewriting my comment because the website hated my prices [I rounded up to the nearest dollar] and then I forgot to put the title in. Anyway, I don\’t keep multimedia, so I made this with a small hard drive and lots of RAM for gaming or whatever. I\’m getting tired of writing these.

My comments about my computer:

When I when about this I didn’t believe I would be able to make much of a PC with such a limited budget, but as I went along I was suprised how few corners I had to cut.
It features a 2.7 Ghz AMD X2 Dual Core Proccesor, 4 GB of DDR2 800 Memory, 640 GB of Hard Drive Space in RAID 0, a Overclocked GeForce 9600 and a 20X DVD Burner….Not too Shabby for under $500!
Thanks Newegg!!!
